Cryptoasset data and infrastructure platform Coin Metrics has raised $15m from a Series B round led by Goldman Sachs.
The round also saw participation from existing backers such as Castle Island Ventures, Fidelity Investments, Avon Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Communitas Capital and Collab+Currency. New investors include Morningside Group, BlockFi and Acrew Ventures.
Following the round, Goldman Sachs managing director Matthew McDermott will join the Coin Metrics’ board of directors.
Established in 2017, the Boston-based Coin Metrics is a leading provider of crypto financial intelligence, providing network data, market data, index and network risk solutions to the most prestigious institutions touching cryptoassets.
According to the company, it intends to use the funds for global expansion and further product innovation to reach more cryptoasset networks and markets.
In March last year, Coin Metrics collected $6m in funding from a financing round led by Highland Capital Partners. The firm claimed the funding would be used to bolster its team, expand its product offering and offer deeper services.
