SumUp stars as the largest FinTech deal in June 2022

• SumUp, a point of sale platform, completed the largest FinTech deal in June 2022 raising a huge $623m in its latest Venture Round led by Bain Capital Tech Opportunities. The recent funding brings the company’s valuation to a staggering $8.5bn, 20 times higher than five years ago. The money will be used for acquisitions, more hiring (it now employs some 3,000 people), and more organic product development, the company said.
• Investment in June reached $11.6bn in total with the United States accounting for 55% of total investments. The UK was second for total investment, raising $1.1bn and accounted for 10% of investment overall in June.
