Global insurance company MAPFRE has partnered with Bupa to offer international health insurance in Latin America.
MAPFRE is a multinational insurance group, the company describes itself as a benchmark insurer in the Spanish market and the number one insurance group in Latin America.
The partnership will cover the Latin American region, starting in Peru before being extended to Uruguay and Paraguay and will last for ten years. It will automatically renew for five more years.
According to the companies, the alliance combines their respective strengths and experiences of both companies and will gradually increase their penetration of the region’s health markets to offer access to top-level international medical care.
Additionally, Bupa and MAPFRE clients will enjoy access to the highest quality health care products and services.
As part of the global offering, policyholders will be able to make use of the most extensive medical provider network through Bupa, an international healthcare company, serving more than 40 million customers worldwide.

Last year, InsurTech company Tractable partnered with MAPFRE to apply AI solutions to auto claims.
