Moonfire Ventures, an innovative investment firm integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and venture capital, has successfully raised $115m.

This fund is aimed at bolstering the growth and potential of early-stage start-ups across Europe.

The recent funding round drew interest from a range of investors, all eager to fuel the cutting-edge approach that Moonfire Ventures brings to the start-up ecosystem. The fund continues to demonstrate the firm’s commitment to revolutionising the landscape of venture capital through a unique blend of human insights and advanced machine learning technologies.

Moonfire Ventures stands out in the crowded venture landscape with its proprietary machine learning models and software. This technology, applied across the entire venture capital value chain, helps resolve challenges that start-ups face at scale and offers faster, more informed decision-making processes. A key part of its offering is the unique symbiotic relationship between investors and on-hand engineers who continuously enhance the AI in response to changing market trends.

The newly raised capital will be used to further support early-stage start-ups in Europe. By applying its AI-powered investment approach, Moonfire Ventures aims to drive increased access, efficiency, and product quality, while at the same time revolutionising the start-up opportunities for founders.

Moonfire Ventures reviews an impressive 50,000 companies every week, a scale that surpasses traditional venture capital firms by over 600 times. The firm employs next-generation technologies such as AI, Web3, and AR/VR to transform key sectors including health, work, finance, and gaming. This pursuit, according to the firm, is where “sources of disruption intersect with sectors that are driving innovation.”

Mattias Ljungman, Moonfire Ventures’ managing partner, said, “We are entering a new decade of AI that is transforming the possibilities of technology and redefining how tech companies are built through greater access, efficiency and product quality. We want to be there for the founders at the earliest stages powering their growth and being true partners from the very beginning.”

In its earlier journey, Moonfire Ventures led 23 deals and co-invested in 27 others with top-tier investors such as Sequoia, Accel, Index, General Catalyst and Accel. This journey includes successes like portfolio company Humaans raising a $15m Series A round, Lightdash completing a $7M round led by Accel, and GOALS closing a $20m Series A round with Seven Seven Six. Besides its $90M Fund II, the firm has raised $25m via its Opportunity Fund to double down on its winners.
