Insurance veteran Albert Zhou joins Corvus Insurance as chief risk officer

Zhou, a seasoned professional with more than 12 years of multifaceted insurance experience, reports to Prashanth Gangu, the president of Corvus Insurance, and becomes a vital part of the leadership team.

Albert Zhou, the newly appointed chief risk officer at Corvus Insurance, is a distinguished industry veteran with profound expertise in actuarial, risk, and analytics. His career highlights include the founding of Toyl Ventures, a digital assets arbitrage trading firm, and a successful tenure at Third Point Re and SiriusPoint. Zhou’s role at Corvus will be pivotal in implementing industry-leading risk and actuarial practices, overseeing various facets such as pricing, reserving, systemic risk modelling, risk accumulation, and aggregation.

Prior to his engagement with Corvus, Zhou held the position of chief actuarial & analytics officer at SynchronoSure, a budding commercial MGA. He also led the U.S. actuarial team at Third Point Re and SiriusPoint, handling pricing, reserving, capital modelling, and risk management. Zhou began his career as an actuarial consultant at Ernst & Young and holds the title of Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
