QNB unveils Qatar's premier local payment gateway

QNB Group, the foremost financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has made waves with the introduction of the new QNB Payment Gateway, marking it as the premier locally established payment gateway in Qatar.

In a bid to modernise and streamline digital payments in e-commerce, QNB Group developed the Payment Gateway. This venture responds to a growing demand for advanced and secure card acceptance solutions tailored for local merchants.

Spanning over three continents, QNB Group maintains a presence in more than 28 countries via its subsidiaries and associate companies. Committed to delivering top-tier products and services, they employ over 29,000 individuals across 900 locations. Their vast outreach is further evidenced by an ATM network boasting more than 4,900 machines.

The QNB Payment Gateway offers a comprehensive payment solution, ensuring safe and efficient transactions for credit, prepaid, and debit card (QPay) payments. It comes enriched with features like e-invoicing solutions, integration with local and international digital wallets, acceptance of QNB loyalty points online, and facilitating online instalment plans for merchants.

This avant-garde platform is not just a payment solution; it’s a game-changer. It grants merchants the ability to customise the payment experience, ensuring the gateway aligns with the merchant’s unique branding and aesthetics. This way, customers perceive transactions as taking place securely on the merchant’s own website.

Through the gateway, merchants can harness the speed of transaction processing, tap into international clientele, and leverage a plethora of payment platforms. It is designed as a catalyst to give merchants an edge in the evolving digital payment landscape.

QNB Group Senior Executive Vice President – Group Retail Banking Adel Ali Al-Malki said, “We are pleased to announce QNB Payment Gateway as one of the strategic projects that come in line with our vision to provide the latest technology and innovative payment solutions to our merchants. This advanced payment getaway aims is to simplify and secure digital transactions for consumers and merchants, through an innovative platform to keep up with the ongoing digitisation of payments that fits within our sustainable strategy aimed at reducing cash payments in support of Qatar National Vision 2030.”

Further, QNB Group Executive Vice President Group Cards and Retail Payments Keyka Pourkarimi mentioned, “QNB Payment Gateway was built to meet the demands of a robust payment gateway delivering against complex requirements from a wide range of merchants belonging to the SME, Government, Retail, Hospitality, services, F&B, and financial industries.

“One of the most highly sought features that the gateway has to offer is to be able to customise the payment experience where the payment gateway would adhere to merchant’s look and feel requirements so as the customer would feel that transactions are being securely processed at the merchant’s website.”
