The Swedish alternative lender has secured the signing of Klarna’s Roger Forsberg effective December 4th, 2023, according to Finextra.

Forsberg, who worked as an Engineering Director at the BNPL giant, rings over 25 years of experience from his time at Klarna, as well as stints at Avanza and Pricerunner. His career boasts extensive expertise in spearheading and developing tech departments within scaleup companies.

Froda operates at the forefront of facilitating access to financing for small businesses. The company has recently experienced substantial growth and expansion, marked by strategic hires and successful fundraising efforts. Roger Forsberg’s addition as the CTO aligns with the firm’s vision to invest in technology and expand its team to meet increasing demands.

Alongside the recruitment of Roger Forsberg, Astrid de Laval, Froda’s former CTO, will transition into the role of VP of Engineering. Together, they will lead Froda’s tech department and oversee the development of its technical platform.

Froda’s recent expansion into Denmark and the United Kingdom, coupled with strategic recruitment, signifies the company’s ambitious growth trajectory and commitment to facilitating financing for small businesses.

Olle Lundin, CEO, and founder of Froda, said, “Roger’s experience in building and leading tech departments with fantastic results will be a significant asset for us. We are in a phase of rapid scaling and need to invest in tech and expand the team to meet the high demand. Roger’s expertise will be central in the development of our technical platform and for future innovation work.”

Roger Forsberg, CTO at Froda, said, “I am very impressed with Froda, how the founders have built the company, the pace of innovation, and the results achieved so far. It’s a product I could have used myself, which is important to me when choosing companies to work for. I also share the vision that access to financing for small businesses is important for both the individual entrepreneur as well as society at large.”
