Shearer, an esteemed veteran in intelligence and banking, notably from HSBC, is poised to bring his extensive expertise to Hawk AI. The company, acclaimed for its financial crime technology, serves a global client base of banks and payment providers.
Hawk AI has established itself as a pioneer in the FinTech sector, specializing in AI-powered solutions for fraud detection and anti-money laundering. Their technology is a vital tool for financial institutions worldwide, safeguarding against financial crimes.
Michael Shearer’s career spans over three decades in intelligence and banking, most prominently as the Group Head of Compliance Product Management at HSBC. At HSBC, he was instrumental in developing advanced systems for managing financial crime risk. In his new role at Hawk AI, Shearer is set to leverage his profound experience to enhance the company’s solutions in AML and fraud prevention.
Shearer’s tenure at HSBC was marked by significant achievements, including the development of an award-winning analytics application and an innovative cloud-based machine learning platform for financial crime detection. Prior to HSBC, he devoted 20 years to government intelligence and counter-terrorism. Shearer is also an author, with his book “Hands-on Entity Resolution” scheduled for release in spring 2024.
