Geoff Seeley takes the helm as PayPal’s new chief marketing officer

PayPal has announced a significant new addition to its team by appointing Geoff Seeley to the prominent role of chief marketing officer.

Seeley will be under the guidance of Diego Scotti, Executive Vice President (EVP) and General Manager (GM) of Consumer Group and Global Marketing & Communications.

PayPal operates at the forefront of the FinTech industry, providing innovative financial services and digital payment solutions to millions of customers and businesses worldwide. With its vast array of products, including the popular peer-to-peer payment platform Venmo, PayPal is dedicated to simplifying the payment process while enhancing user engagement and trust through secure and user-friendly services.

Geoff Seeley, the newly appointed CMO, brings with him over 25 years of experience in global brand, digital, and performance marketing. At PayPal, Seeley will be responsible for steering the Global Marketing team and ensuring that the value propositions of PayPal and Venmo are effectively communicated to customers. H

is role is pivotal in injecting new energy into these brands by capitalising on PayPal’s innovative legacy and robust product offerings. Prior to joining PayPal, Seeley held the position of Global CMO and Communications Officer at AfterPay and was involved in marketing at CashApp, showcasing his adeptness in transforming marketing models and brand building across significant global companies.

Before his time at AfterPay and CashApp, Geoff Seeley had an impressive stint at Airbnb, focusing on the Homes business where he managed a broad spectrum of marketing disciplines from regional brand marketing to global media and partnerships.

His tenure at Unilever as Global Communications Planning Director also saw him revolutionising marketing strategies for established brands, demonstrating his capability in elevating customer brand experiences through innovative marketing and technology.
