Sigma Broking and ION bolster LME trading operations through extended partnership

Sigma Broking, an international brokerage firm renowned for its comprehensive services to institutional clients, continues to enhance its operational capabilities through a strategic partnership with ION.

ION stands as a pivotal figure in the realm of trading, analytics, and risk management, providing essential services across capital markets and commodities. This collaboration sees Sigma augmenting its existing infrastructure with ION’s XTP Execution (XTP-E) suite, aiming to elevate the trading experience on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

The partnership’s primary objective is to furnish Sigma’s clientele with advanced trading functionalities, enabling efficient and tailored access to the LME. By incorporating ION’s XTP-E suite, Sigma aims to refine its order routing processes, thereby enhancing execution services and supporting its clients’ strategic trading endeavors.

Sigma Broking stands out with its bespoke broking and execution services, catering to a diverse clientele that includes investment banks, base metal producers and consumers, hedge funds, and portfolio managers. Its focus on providing access to premier exchanges and crafting specialized hedging strategies underscores its commitment to client success.

On the other hand, ION’s reputation as a leading software provider for order routing, coupled with its XTP-E suite, underscores its expertise in delivering automated, accurate, and risk-managed trading solutions, promoting both retail and institutional growth.

Sigma Broking CEO, Gary Pettit, underscored the partnership’s value, stating, “A core pillar of my strategic growth plan for Sigma is the implementation of best-in-class systems to provide our clients with seamless execution.  Sigma Broking is one of only eight Category 1 Ring Dealing members on the LME; ION’s XTP Execution further strengthens our front-office execution capabilities and infrastructure for trading commodities on the LME.”

Echoing this sentiment, Francesco Margini, Chief Product Officer for Cleared Derivatives, ION Markets, remarked, “We are delighted to build on our existing partnership with Sigma, which offers access to trading worldwide. Using XTP Execution, Sigma is able to capitalize on additional opportunities on the LME, using integrated workflows and connected data for real-time insights.”
