BlackRock leads $47m funding round for blockchain leader Securitize

Securitize, the trailblazer in tokenising real-world assets, has just closed a strategic funding round, accumulating $47m.

The round was led by the financial giant BlackRock, with additional participation from Hamilton Lane, ParaFi Capital, and Tradeweb Markets.

Furthering their commitment, BlackRock’s Global Head of Strategic Ecosystem Partnerships, Joseph Chalom, will join Securitize’s Board of Directors.

The newly acquired funds will be utilized to accelerate product development, expand Securitize’s global footprint, and enhance its partnerships across the financial services ecosystem.

This strategic development coincides with the launch of BlackRock’s first tokenized fund issued on Ethereum, the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), which offers a novel investment avenue for subscribers through Securitize.

Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo said, “We are thrilled to have the support of such distinguished investors as we continue to drive the digitization of capital markets through tokenization. In our view, the transformative potential of blockchain technology to reshape the future of finance in general – and tokenization in particular – is promising.”
