Amwins, a leading insurance distributor, has announced the formation of Amwins National Transportation Underwriters (ANTU) designed to streamline market access.
It is expected that this will provide clients with nationwide coverage through nearly a dozen binding markets and a range of specialty transportation programs.
With a workforce of almost 80 employees across eight locations, retail agents will benefit from easy access to transportation-certified underwriters possessing regional expertise for fleet and non-fleet accounts.
This entity combines the expertise of two long-standing MGAs, Amwins Transportation Underwriters (ATU) and National Truck Underwriting Managers (NTUM), both dedicated to the transportation sector.
The consolidation of ATU and NTUM into Amwins National Transportation Underwriters marks a strategic move to leverage the successful legacies of these independent organisations within Amwins.
Ryan Armijo, president, Amwins Underwriting, stated, “ATU and NTUM have each been in this space for more than 40 years; they know transportation. By combining these two well-respected brands, we can drive forward even greater impact on the industry through unparalleled market access and outstanding customer service.”
Justin Joyce, former President of NTUM, will lead the binding unit of the newly formed Amwins National Transportation Underwriters. With 20 years of experience in transportation insurance, Joyce brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in building relationships with internal and external clients.
Amwins National Transportation Underwriters’ specialty programs unit, covering environmental transportation, freight broker liability, and Advantage, will continue to be overseen by their respective program managers.
