Chubb Limited, a global insurance leader, has announced significant executive appointments within its North American general insurance business.
These changes are designed to drive the company’s future growth and development.
The firm is renowned as the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer, providing a broad range of services including commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance, and life insurance to a diverse group of clients.
John Lupica, previously vice chairman of Chubb Group and president of North America insurance, has been named executive chairman.
He will leverage his vast knowledge and strategic capabilities to guide the North American insurance business, addressing major issues and providing executive oversight.
Juan Luis Ortega, formerly executive vice president of Chubb Group and president of overseas general insurance, has been appointed president of North America insurance.
Known for his exceptional leadership and consistent track record of success, Ortega will handle the executive operating responsibilities, ensuring both top and bottom-line performance.
Scott Meyer, senior vice president of Chubb Group and division president of Westchester, will take on the newly created role of chief operating officer of North America insurance.
His new role as COO will see him applying his extensive experience to support and enhance the division’s operations.
Christopher Maleno, senior vice president of Chubb Group, has also been appointed vice chairman of North America insurance. Maleno will continue his responsibilities as division president of North America field operations, reporting to Ortega.
These appointments are effective immediately, reflecting Chubb’s commitment to boosting its own market position.
Chubb CEO Evan G. Greenberg expressed confidence in the appointments, saying, “These management changes and increased responsibilities recognise the size and complexity of our North America Insurance business, along with our ambitions for its future growth and development. Greenberg also praised each appointee’s capabilities and contributions, highlighting Lupica’s strategic acumen, Ortega’s leadership skills and track record, Meyer’s extensive experience, and Maleno’s loyalty and work ethic.
