HCLSoftware, a pivotal division of HCLTech, has declared its plan to acquire Zeenea, a prominent innovator in metadata management based in Paris.
This strategic move is set to fortify HCLSoftware’s Data & Analytics business, notably its Actian Data Platform, which has experienced considerable growth in Hybrid Data Management and Integration in recent years. The addition of Zeenea’s capabilities—spanning data cataloging, lineage, and governance—aims to enhance the functionality of HCLSoftware’s offerings, allowing customers to fully leverage these new features.
Zeenea operates an intelligent data discovery platform, crucial for organizations aiming to manage metadata from search and exploration to cataloging, lineage, governance, compliance, and establishing an enterprise data marketplace. Utilizing an adaptive knowledge graph, Zeenea helps organizations democratize data access and craft a comprehensive view of their data assets and the interconnections among them.
Kalyan Kumar, Chief Product Officer at HCLSoftware, said, “Metadata management is becoming critical for our customers to accelerate their GenAI initiatives across business functions.
“Zeenea will further accelerate the growth in the data and analytics space for HCLSoftware. It will enable HCLSoftware to offer a unified data intelligence solution that will power enterprises to discover, govern, connect, manage and better leverage data in their data engineering and GenAI journeys.”
Marc Potter, CEO of Actian and Portfolio General Manager at HCLSoftware’s Data & Analytics business, highlighted the demand for an integrated approach to data management. “Organizations demand an integrated and holistic approach to data management. Zeenea’s data catalog and governance capabilities will extend our portfolio to offer a comprehensive, single-vendor solution to meet all the data needs of today’s data driven enterprises.”
The acquisition is slated for completion in September 2024.
