GoCardless, a leading bank payment company, has entered into a strategic partnership with Future Ticketing, an innovative API-first ticketing solution tailored for sports, visitor attractions, and event organisers.
This collaboration aims to simplify and reduce the cost of purchasing tickets and memberships for consumers across the UK and Ireland.
The core of this partnership revolves around making event attendance more affordable. By incorporating GoCardless directly into its platform, Future Ticketing will enable its clientele—including prestigious clubs in the English Football League, Scottish Premier League, Super League, and Elite Ice Hockey League—to collect payments via Direct Debit.
This integration facilitates a more flexible payment structure where event attendees, like season ticket holders and festival-goers, can spread the cost of their tickets over several months.
GoCardless specialises in direct bank payments and assists over 85,000 businesses worldwide in managing both recurring and one-off payments efficiently. The partnership with Future Ticketing represents an extension of GoCardless’s vast network, which already includes more than 350 partners. This network helps businesses integrate bank payment solutions seamlessly into their existing platforms, enhancing transaction reliability and reducing associated fees.
Future Ticketing stands out for its commitment to improving payment processes and customer conversions for its clients. With a focus on API-first solutions, Future Ticketing offers an adaptable platform that supports a broad spectrum of events and venues, striving to meet the evolving demands for instalment payment options among today’s consumers.
GoCardless’s VP of Partnerships, Seb Hempstead, said, “This partnership is a game-changer. Future Ticketing customers can now use GoCardless to give their fans the ability to break down larger purchases into smaller, more manageable repayments — so season tickets for their favourite team or tickets to that once-in-a-lifetime gig are all within reach. At the same time, clubs, venues and event organisers save money on card fees and gain peace of mind knowing that repayments will be automatically collected on the day they’re due. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Ann Marie Guinan, Chief Marketing Officer at Future Ticketing, said, “Ensuring seamless payments and customer conversion is a top priority for us and our clients. By offering a wider range of payment options, we are meeting the growing demand for instalment payments from today’s customers.”
