ESG Book links with Zfolio to transform financed emissions management

ESG Book

ESG Book, the world’s leading provider of sustainability-related data for public and private companies, has joined forces with Zfolio.

This partnership aims to support financial institutions in assessing and reporting on climate-related financial risks effectively.

The partnership has been established to address the increasing demand for financial institutions to manage climate risks and opportunities within their investment and lending decisions. It offers systems to assess, monitor, and report on climate-related financial risks more accurately. Financed emissions have become a crucial focus area for financial institutions, but ensuring best practice and alignment with industry standards remains complex and costly.

ESG Book is renowned for its extensive sustainability data which includes reported and estimated emissions data for over 40,000 companies globally, covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions. Zfolio, on the other hand, specializes in calculating financed emissions for various asset classes such as real estate, infrastructure, project finance, and vehicle loans. Their platform employs over 45 million common identifiers to match equities and bonds with specific company data.

Through this collaboration, clients can perform complete financed emissions calculations on their portfolios with a few clicks. The results are aligned with the latest global regulatory standards and include detailed emissions breakdowns, ensuring high quality and efficiency.

Additionally, the system includes country-specific emission factors and data on over four million private companies, enhancing the breadth and accuracy of the emissions management process.

Maria Mähl, Head of US Client Solutions at ESG Book, emphasized the strategic benefit of the partnership, “Given the complexities of calculating financed emissions, financial institutions are increasingly turning to advanced tools that can achieve greater accuracy and efficiency in meeting climate transition goals. Through our new partnership with Zfolio, we are excited to offer clients with the market’s leading solution to address their portfolio emissions needs.”

Peter Howard, Founder and CEO of Zfolio, also highlighted the combined strength of the collaboration: “Combining the quality and breadth of ESG Book data with Zfolio’s technology means asset managers of any size can get the most accurate financed emissions calculations easily and efficiently from a single source across all asset classes. No other platform in the market has that capability.”
