Root Platform (Root), a leading provider of low-code, API-first InsurTech solutions, has announced the launch of its Certified Developer Community program.
The Certified Developer Community program was introduced to address a pressing industry need for enhanced scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in insurance technology projects, according to InsurTech Insights.
Root aims to achieve this by upskilling developers within the insurance sector, creating a network of skilled professionals adept at deploying advanced InsurTech solutions.
The firm specialises in offering low-code, API-driven platforms that enable insurance businesses to accelerate digital transformation.
Its technology supports companies in building custom insurance solutions while reducing development time and costs.
The new program is designed to train developers to become certified Solutions Engineer freelancers, ready to tackle complex InsurTech challenges.
These engineers will gain access to freelance opportunities, project allocations, and ongoing training from Root’s Solutions Engineering team. The program also offers mentorship and continuous performance monitoring to ensure consistent skill enhancement.
A notable feature of the initiative is its focus on fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. Developers will benefit from regular feedback, performance reviews, and a supportive learning environment aimed at driving innovation across the insurance sector.
The program also serves as a strategic move by Root to expand its ecosystem, ensuring insurance companies can access highly qualified talent capable of delivering scalable and cost-effective technology solutions.
Root’s co-founder, Louw Hopley, highlighted the transformative potential of the program, saying: “Our new Certified Developer Community program is a game-changer for the insurance industry. By upskilling developers and equipping them with the tools to succeed, we are enabling faster innovation while creating a vibrant community of experts driving the future of insurance technology.”
Charlotte Koep, CEO at Root, added: “I’m so proud of this initiative to offer external developers the opportunity to become Root certified and work with us on a freelance basis. It’s a win-win for Developers who can enhance their skills, knowledge and experience, and work with our in-house team. For Root, we’ll be able to call on qualified Engineers to help us deliver projects as we scale.”
Lourens Pelser, who leads Customer Operations at Root, shared additional insights: “Designing and creating the Developer Community Program is a natural next step for Root, and offers so much gravitas for Developers. They will get the opportunity to work on a freelance basis with us and access our many interesting projects. It’s also a chance to develop skills, network with like-minded people and gain a strong reputation in the InsurTech market.” Pelser further noted, “We’re excited to enroll our first freelancers and get the program moving forwards.”
This initiative underscores Root’s mission to empower insurance businesses with developer-driven, cutting-edge solutions while enhancing efficiency and expertise throughout the industry.
