System Two Security, a pioneering cybersecurity startup, has successfully secured a $7m funding round.

This significant financial injection was spearheaded by Costanoa Ventures, with contributions from Runtime Ventures, The Hive, and Webb Investment Network. Notable individual investors also joined the round, including tech industry veterans Scott McNealy, former CEO of Sun Microsystems; Frederic Kerrest, Co-Founder of Okta; and Ash Devata, CEO of GreyNoise.

The company is at the forefront of integrating GenAI technologies to combat the increasing sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks. System Two’s cutting-edge approach employs AI agents to enhance detection engineering, providing security teams with advanced tools to anticipate and counteract evolving threats.

The newly acquired funds are earmarked for several critical areas within System Two. Primarily, the investment will accelerate the company’s staffing and product development initiatives, aiming to expand its technological capabilities and market reach.

Additional insights into System Two’s operations reveal its strategic use of GenAI to streamline the detection process. By automating and adapting detection mechanisms, the company enables quicker analysis and identification of threats, significantly reducing the time security teams spend on these tasks.

Their technology is designed to integrate seamlessly with major enterprise security systems like Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, and CrowdStrike’s Next-Gen SIEM.

“The bad guys have new weapons—and the good guys need to use them to keep up. System Two gives our customers the tools to outpace and ward off attacks using GenAI by harnessing the same tech for its benefits – speed, accuracy and adaptive learning,” said Robert Fly, CEO of System Two Security.

John Cowgill, General Partner at Costanoa Ventures, also emphasized the transformation in threat detection, “Threat detection today is broken—and AI is massively increasing the volume of threats teams need to manage. System Two is rebuilding detection from the ground up to meet today’s challenges, and enabling SOCs to translate existing detections into new systems of record. By automating tedious work of writing detections and ensuring every detection is actionable, they’re helping SOCs operate faster, smarter and with far less friction.”

This strategic investment not only bolsters System Two’s resources but also reaffirms its position as a leader in the cybersecurity space, setting the stage for further innovations in AI-driven security solutions.
