Edmond de Rothschild has announced the appointment of Eric de Tessières as Group Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO).
He assumed his new role on 7 April, reporting to Cynthia Tobiano, Deputy CEO. Eric is tasked with overseeing and advancing the group’s sustainability strategies across their asset management and private banking sectors.
The company has a rich history in sustainability, having dedicated over 20 years to sustainable investment practices. Notably, 50% of its assets under management are classified as Article 8 or 9, aligning with SFDR guidelines, which underscores its commitment to sustainable investing.
Eric de Tessières brings a wealth of experience to his new role at Edmond de Rothschild. With nearly two decades in the banking industry and sustainable investing, he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of the Sustainability Center and Head of Solidarity Investments at BNP Paribas Asset Management. His career began at Ernst & Young, followed by significant roles at BNP Paribas, including as project manager to the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Monitoring and Projects for the wealth management’s offerings.
Eric’s background is robust, with a solid education including a graduation from HEC, certification by CESGA, and additional credentials from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). His expertise will be crucial in driving Edmond de Rothschild’s sustainability initiatives both internally and externally. Eric will work closely with specialists based in Paris and Geneva and collaborate with a network of sustainability ambassadors across various asset classes.
