AI voice assistants have become a quiet yet powerful presence in daily life, from managing schedules to answering questions. Yet many of these ever-listening helpers are distinctly female in tone, reinforcing a subtle but enduring stereotype: the woman as a passive, obedient assistant.

Generative AI (GenAI) has brought both progress and challenges.
