Malaysia has made banking history with the launch of Ryt Bank, the world’s first AI-powered bank built by Malaysians for Malaysians.
Spearheaded by YTL Group in partnership with Sea Limited, the launch comes just ahead of Merdeka and marks a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey.
Ryt Bank integrates advanced artificial intelligence with Malaysia’s cultural and linguistic diversity, aiming to provide a truly inclusive banking experience. “Ryt Bank demonstrates that groundbreaking innovation can be imagined, built, and led right here in Malaysia. By combining homegrown AI with the values and diversity of our people, we’ve created a bank that Malaysians can proudly call their own – one that speaks our languages, understands our culture, and sets a new standard for how banking should feel,” YTL Power International managing director Dato’ Seri Yeoh Seok Hong said.
The bank offers full multilingual support, launching with Bahasa Malaysia and English, and adding Mandarin by September 2025. This ensures that banking services are accessible to all Malaysians, bridging communities and offering financial tools in the language users feel most comfortable with.
At the centre of the platform is Ryt AI, an intelligent assistant powered by ILMU, Malaysia’s first homegrown large language model. Ryt AI enables customers to complete banking tasks through natural conversations in Bahasa Malaysia, English, or Manglish. From paying bills to tracking expenses or learning financial basics, Ryt AI provides both convenience and security with all transactions verified and encrypted.
Other features include daily interest on savings of up to 4% p.a. with no lock-ins, instant credit through Ryt PayLater with up to RM1,499 available interest-free for the first month, and the all-in-one Ryt Card offering both debit and credit capabilities. Customers can also enjoy perks such as unlimited 1.2% cashback on overseas transactions, zero foreign transaction fees, and rewards including Shopee vouchers and YTL Hotels dining discounts.
Licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia and protected by PIDM, Ryt Bank combines enterprise-grade security with seamless user experience, aiming to redefine personal banking in Malaysia.
