Revolut launches 4.5% savings account for kids

Revolut has unveiled its new Instant Access Savings account for customers aged 6 to 15, offering interest rates of up to 4.5% AER (variable).

The move is aimed at helping young savers learn financial responsibility while earning competitive returns on their savings.

The global FinTech giant has more than 11 million customers in the UK and 60 million worldwide. The accounts, powered by Clearbank, come with no minimum deposit requirements, free withdrawals, and daily interest payments.

Interest rates vary depending on a parent or guardian’s Revolut plan. Standard and Plus plan users can access 3.5% AER, Premium accounts offer 3.75%, Metal accounts offer 4%, and Ultra accounts deliver the full 4.5% AER.

Savings are capped at £3,500, with protection under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) as part of the parent’s £85,000 protection limit.

Revolut head of youth products Carlo Spada said, “At Revolut, we believe that a strong foundation in financial literacy starts early. Our new Instant Access Savings account for kids and teens is designed to be more than just a savings tool – it’s a hands-on lesson in how money can grow. This latest addition is all part of our mission to give the next generation the tools they need to feel financially confident and build a healthy financial future.”
