Dotfile, Europe’s leading AI-powered compliance operating system, has launched Dotfile Autonomy, a new self-decisioning AI agent designed to streamline KYB compliance.
The platform is being described as the industry’s first fully autonomous AI product for KYB case review, offering financial institutions and FinTech firms a new way to automate routine processes.
The company said the launch responds to growing demand for efficiency in compliance operations, where firms are struggling with the balance between regulatory oversight and the costs of manual reviews. With compliance checks becoming increasingly complex, Dotfile Autonomy has been positioned as a tool to ease the burden on institutions while still maintaining transparency and auditability.
Dotfile specialises in AI-driven compliance technology, offering an operating system that enables regulated organisations to simplify KYB and anti-money laundering (AML) checks. Its platforms are built to improve operational efficiency and regulatory trust, with a focus on scalable automation that does not compromise oversight.
The new product uses a sophisticated multi-agent AI architecture, combining a central orchestrator with specialised review agents. This allows it to automatically analyse cases, determine appropriate levels of automation, and process routine compliance reviews without human involvement. Only more complex or unusual cases are escalated for manual review.
Autonomy is designed as an extendable suite of agents with capabilities beyond standard compliance checks. The agents can review alerts, verify documents and identities, investigate ownership structures, assess creditworthiness, monitor websites, and even draft suspicious activity reports. Clients are also able to create their own agents for specific tasks by using natural language instructions. Each step is fully auditable, providing contextual explanations to ensure transparency.
The platform promises significant business impact for financial institutions. Early adopters have seen case review times fall from hours to seconds, higher automation rates with fewer manual interventions, and customer onboarding times cut from days to minutes. Its bulk processing feature also enables the simultaneous handling of hundreds of cases, making it suitable for enterprise-scale operations.
Dotfile CEO and cofounder Vasco Alexandre said, “Our approach delivers huge efficiency gains, while keeping humans in the loop. We think this is the winning combination for an AI that is trusted by our clients and regulators alike.” He added, “AI in compliance holds big promises, but the hard part is implementing all the necessary guardrails that will allow professionals to confidently hand work over to it. This is what we have been focused on from the beginning.”
