CrowdStrike buys Pangea to secure enterprise AI lifecycle

Crowdstrike

CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader, has signed an agreement to acquire Pangea, a company known for its AI security capabilities.

The acquisition is aimed at strengthening the Falcon® platform, delivering what is described as the industry’s first complete AI Detection and Response (AIDR) system.

The deal is designed to give CrowdStrike the ability to extend protection across every layer of enterprise AI. With the integration of Pangea, the Falcon platform will expand to secure not only data, models, agents, and infrastructure, but also the interactions that drive AI development and enterprise usage. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

CrowdStrike, widely recognised for pioneering Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), has established itself as a standard bearer for endpoint protection. The company’s Falcon platform already provides extensive coverage, safeguarding cloud workloads, endpoints, and AI models against data leaks and security threats. By bringing Pangea on board, CrowdStrike will be able to protect the critical interaction layer where AI systems are built and deployed at scale.

Pangea has built a reputation as a leader in AI security, offering breakthrough technologies that include protection against prompt injection attacks, governance over risky AI use, and security measures integrated into both AI development and production environments. Its solutions boast up to 99% efficacy in blocking malicious prompts and model jailbreak attempts, while operating with minimal latency. The company’s tools allow developers and enterprises to embed safeguards into AI applications, enabling faster and more secure innovation.

The combination of CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform with Pangea’s technology is intended to offer unified visibility, compliance, and enforcement across the AI lifecycle. This move addresses the growing threat landscape around AI, where attackers increasingly seek vulnerabilities in data flows, model interactions, and identity access.

CrowdStrike CEO and founder George Kurtz said, “AI is rewriting the enterprise attack surface at breakneck speed. Each prompt becomes an entry point for the adversary. With Pangea, CrowdStrike will secure the entire AI lifecycle, detecting risks, enforcing safeguards, and ensuring compliance, so our customers can confidently build, deploy, and scale AI without risk.”

Pangea CEO and founder Oliver Friedrichs said, “Pangea was founded to make AI adoption safe and secure, giving enterprises the visibility and guardrails to embrace AI with confidence. By joining CrowdStrike, we will be able to deliver this vision on a global scale, unifying AI security with the Falcon platform and creating the industry’s first complete AI Detection and Response platform.”
