FinScan boosts AML strategy with two senior appointments

FinScan, an Innovative Systems solution and a leading provider of advanced AML compliance technology, has announced two senior additions to its product strategy and management team.

Becki LaPorte has joined as principal of AML strategy and innovation, while Christopher Ostrowski takes on the role of product management leader. Both appointments reinforce FinScan’s commitment to advancing its global AML innovation and compliance capabilities.

FinScan delivers technology that helps financial institutions worldwide detect and prevent financial crime with greater accuracy and efficiency. Its solutions focus on key compliance areas such as sanctions screening, Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, and AI-driven risk management. The company is recognised for its precision in helping clients meet complex regulatory standards while maintaining operational agility.

In her new position, LaPorte will spearhead FinScan’s AML strategy and innovation agenda. Her focus will be on strengthening the company’s leadership in financial crime prevention and expanding its innovation in sanctions screening, perpetual KYC, model validation, and artificial intelligence applications. She will also collaborate across FinScan’s teams to enhance product direction and thought leadership.

LaPorte brings over 25 years of experience in financial crime prevention and regulatory compliance. She holds certifications as a Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS) and Financial Intelligence Specialist (FIS) and is widely regarded as a thought leader in the AML and fraud prevention space. Prior to joining FinScan, she served as strategic advisor for fraud and AML at Datos Insights and founded Exodus Partners Group, advising fintechs, financial institutions, and regulators. Her earlier roles include chief AML officer at Advisor Group, director of global risk and compliance at CSI, and associate director at FINRA.

Ostrowski joins FinScan with more than 17 years of experience in banking, product management, and compliance technology. As product management leader, he will help drive the firm’s product roadmap, ensuring FinScan’s solutions remain both technologically advanced and compliant with shifting regulatory expectations. His expertise bridges compliance, innovation, and technology implementation.

A Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Ostrowski most recently served as chief operating officer and head of product at FinClusive, where he led development and operations for its compliance-as-a-service platform. His career also includes several senior roles at Wells Fargo, where he managed operational risk and Bank Secrecy Act/AML programme initiatives.
