Datadog, the global monitoring and security platform for cloud applications, has appointed industry expert John Trapani as its new field CTO for financial services.
The company, known for its unified approach to observability and security, said the newly established role will play a central part in shaping its strategy for financial institutions worldwide.
Datadog specialises in monitoring, security and observability solutions designed for cloud-native environments. Its platform brings together metrics, traces, logs and security data to give organisations a single, integrated view of their technology stack. The company supports firms as they modernise operations, improve reliability and embed more automation across their systems.
Trapani joins as field CTO for financial services, stepping into a position focused on enhancing Datadog’s engagement with global banking, capital markets and market infrastructure clients. He will collaborate across sales, product and marketing teams to refine and advance the company’s observability strategy for institutions undertaking digital transformation programmes.
Prior to joining Datadog, Trapani spent more than 35 years working in software development, engineering management and technology leadership roles. Most recently, he served as industry leader of financial services at Appian Corporation. Before that, he spent two decades at Fitch Ratings, where he led application development teams and eventually became head of engineering and managing director overseeing core analytical platforms.
