Droit unveils Decision Decoder AI for regulatory transparency

Droit

Droit, a RegTech firm specialising in computational law and regulation, today announced the launch of Decision Decoder, a new AI-powered tool designed to provide context-aware explanations for decisions generated by its patented Adept platform.

The launch reflects growing pressure on financial institutions to demonstrate transparency, traceability and auditability in automated compliance decisions, particularly as firms increasingly rely on AI and advanced rule engines across pre- and post-trade workflows.

Used by many of the world’s leading financial institutions, Droit develops technology that translates complex laws, rules and internal policies into executable logic. Its Adept platform operationalises regulatory requirements at scale, enabling firms to process tens of millions of compliance inquiries every day and make real-time decisions across global markets.

Decision Decoder is designed to work alongside the Adept platform, streamlining regulatory review processes and improving how operational teams understand compliance outcomes. By combining Large Language Models (LLMs) with Droit’s structured data and expert-curated knowledge models, the tool delivers click-to-expand explanations that clarify why a particular decision was reached.

The product integrates directly with Droit’s Logic Viewer, pairing a visual representation of a traceable decision tree with an AI-generated narrative explanation. These explanations decode the logic behind each decision, presenting a readable summary that is contextualised against uploaded trade data and supported by citations to the underlying regulatory texts.

Additional features of Decision Decoder focus on balancing the power of generative AI with regulatory rigour. Droit said the tool is designed to operate within narrow constraints, using only user input combined with the firm’s own logic and knowledge sets. This approach is intended to ensure that explanations maintain the same level of traceability and auditability as the Adept decisions themselves, helping firms manage regulatory risk while improving operational efficiency.

Key benefits highlighted by Droit include faster insight into complex regulatory outcomes, reduced time spent navigating logic visualisations and digital libraries, and lower risk of misinterpretation by providing clear, direct explanations of how rules are applied in practice.

Droit founder and CEO Brock Arnason said, “The Decision Decoder combines the explanatory power of generative AI with Droit’s unique decision logic, bringing greater efficiencies to operations and compliance teams worldwide. Adept has enabled transparency and traceability for our clients from day one. We can now offer financial firms a powerful, low-touch tool to enhance comprehension and reduce the administrative burden of compliance.”

Droit chief product officer Joceline Zheng said, “When “AI” is everywhere, effectiveness is the differentiator. Our use of LLM-based AI is not just about the buzzwords. The Decision Decoder synthesizes some of the most powerful aspects of LLM-based AI and the Adept platform to deliver meaningful improvements in our clients’ workflow. It demonstrates the flexibility of Droit’s regulatory knowledge models, which are an exceptionally rich corpus of intellectual assets.”
