Backbase, an AI-powered banking platform provider, has partnered with Plaid, a data network serving as the analytics layer for financial services, to tackle data fragmentation and accelerate innovation in banking.
The collaboration integrates Plaid’s secure, real-time financial data connectivity with Backbase’s AI-powered Banking Platform, enabling banks to streamline onboarding, seamlessly aggregate account data and deliver more personalised financial journeys.
The joint solution is designed to remove the operational burden of outdated integrations while enhancing visibility across financial data sources.
Financial institutions frequently contend with siloed data environments, fragile legacy integrations and onboarding processes that can take several days, it said. Limited data visibility across systems makes it difficult and expensive to create tailored customer experiences.
The solution is now available to banks globally via Backbase’s website, with access to solution consultants, technical guidance and implementation support. Plaid’s network connects more than 12,000 financial institutions and 7,000 FinTechs, while Backbase serves more than 100 banks worldwide.
Backbase Global Vice President, Head of Ecosystem Partnerships Mayank Somaiya said, “Data is only valuable when it is actionable and understandable.
“By integrating Plaid’s aggregation and enrichment capabilities, we are enabling banks to move beyond raw transaction lists. We are providing a pre-integrated solution that gives customers a holistic, 360-degree view of their financial health -enriched with the clarity they expect -without the burden of building it from scratch.”
Plaid Head of Partnerships Adam Yoxtheimer said, “Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing what’s possible in financial services, but only with strong data foundations.
“By combining Plaid’s real-time connectivity and intelligence with Backbase’s Banking Platform, more banks can access the permissioned data and corresponding insights needed to deliver enhanced, personalized experiences.”
