Theta Lake has announced a record year of customer growth alongside the expansion of its global data centre footprint, including full support for dedicated cloud-based deployments in China.
The expansion comes as demand for data-sovereignty-based cloud archiving continues to accelerate globally, with regulated industries seeking compliant, localised infrastructure to meet increasingly complex cross-border governance requirements.
Theta Lake provides AI-native communications governance and compliance solutions through its Risk and Compliance Suite. The platform supports surveillance, review, investigations, eDiscovery, and Insider Risk management across digital communications and collaboration tools. Its open architecture, embodied in the Theta Lake Developer Platform, has attracted over 250 third-party developers using more than 150 API endpoints, generating over 120m weekly API interactions.
The newly expanded offering includes full support for dedicated cloud deployments in China, alongside broader geographic coverage for regulatory frameworks including SEBI in India and POPIA in South Africa. The company’s data centre expansion supports customers requiring localised data residency and sovereignty, a growing priority for multinational firms operating in highly regulated markets.
In the past year, Theta Lake added over 140 new customers to its Risk and Compliance Suite — a record surpassing the 100-plus additions made in 2024 — bringing its reach to over 12 countries across 11 industry verticals. Over 30% of customers are now using Theta Lake’s patented and ISO 42001-certified AI detection and review features. The suite delivered over 320 industry-first capabilities in 2025, averaging more than one enhancement per business day. Notable additions include a new AI communication and interaction governance module, tools to detect “Jailbreak Behavior”, and recordkeeping reconciliation health features. The company now holds 17 patents, including US 12,464,032 B2 and 18/306,826, covering deep AI infrastructure and visual content analysis across digital communications.
Theta Lake holds a Gartner Peer Insights® rating of 5 out of 5 stars and is the only vendor in the market with a 100% “would recommend” rating, based on 23 reviews as of 24 March 2026.
