ClearBank Europe has launched its Digital Asset Rails, a new capability enabling programmable liquidity for cross-border settlement with round-the-clock fiat payouts in euros via SEPA Instant.
The service is already live and being used by clients for cross-border payment flows, with USDC support to follow later in the year. It is available to regulated institutions including electronic money institutions, payment institutions and banks, with MiCA-regulated firms operating non-retail use cases also able to transfer funds through the new capability.
The Digital Asset Rails allows clients to instruct the conversion of fiat funds into fully reserved digital equivalents using EURC, a MiCA-compliant euro-denominated stablecoin issued by Circle’s regulated e-money institution in the EU.
ClearBank provides the regulated banking layer, covering fiat account infrastructure and access to SEPA Instant. The model also carries potential to support additional currencies over time through stablecoin FX.
The launch is positioned as an advancement in hybrid finance, combining digital asset infrastructure with regulated banking to deliver fiat settlement outcomes. By doing so, it aims to remove dependency on traditional settlement windows and legacy processes, while improving liquidity efficiency and cutting the need for prefunding across multiple markets.
The capability will initially target ClearBank’s European clients, with international expansion planned over time.
ClearBank group CEO Mark Fairless said: “This launch is a further step forward in how we deliver on our purpose to unlock our clients’ potential. As the financial system evolves, clients need infrastructure that keeps pace with how they operate today.
“At ClearBank, we are building that infrastructure. By combining our cloud-native platform with regulated banking, we are removing friction from cross-border flows and giving clients a more effective way to control and deploy liquidity. This is the direction of travel for the industry, and we are focused on enabling our clients to move with it confidently.”
ClearBank Europe CEO Tristan Kirchner said: “Digital Asset Rails gives regulated institutions a new way to manage cross-border liquidity and settlement. By connecting digital asset transfers with fiat payouts via SEPA Instant, it enables clients to move value more efficiently and with greater flexibility than traditional cross-border processes typically allow.
“This is about solving a real operational challenge for clients. By combining digital asset infrastructure with the assurance of a regulated banking layer, we are helping institutions reduce friction in cross-border flows and access a more programmable model for moving money.”
