Zinnia and USAA deepen ties as annuity demand soars

Zinnia, a life and annuity technology firm, is supporting insurance carriers in seizing on record appetite for annuities by helping them bring new products to market at greater speed and develop advanced digital capabilities.

Central to the news is an expanded relationship with USAA, which has signed a renewed growth agreement with Zinnia and is rolling out fresh annuity products on the company’s platform. The move forms part of USAA’s ongoing commitment to developing and modernising its annuity offering.

With interest in annuities climbing to record levels, carriers are channelling investment into technology that supports quicker product development, intelligent automation throughout the policy lifecycle, and the digital foundations required for lasting competitive strength.

According to the company, Zinnia’s platform allows insurers to bring a new annuity product live in as little as three months, achieving straight-through processing rates above 95% for new business alongside same-day issuance. The firm’s technology also extends past onboarding, offering digital servicing across the full annuity lifecycle so carriers can update high-volume post-issue transactions through connected workflows that process activity in real time and at far greater speed.

Zinnia, an Eldridge business, provides technology solutions designed to simplify the life and annuity sector. Its infrastructure helps carriers run more efficiently, enables distributors to widen access, supports advisors in building confidence, and assists consumers in managing financial protection and retirement. The company is also backed by funds managed by KKR and Vista Credit Partners.

Zinnia CEO George Esposito said, “The carriers leading this market are the ones investing in product innovation and digital-first infrastructure today. USAA is a great example of that vision, and we’re proud to be the technology partner helping them bring it to life.”

USAA Life Insurance Company SVP, GM, retirement solutions Mary Stork said, “Partnering with Zinnia gives us access to the technology innovation we need to build the next generation of annuity products and capabilities for our members. We’re excited about what we’re developing together.”
