Tax Systems, the global tax and accounting software provider, has rebranded as Alphatax, adopting the name of its flagship corporation tax compliance platform as it positions itself around an AI-first strategy.
Founded in 1991 and backed by Providence Equity Partners, Alphatax provides multi-tax compliance software designed to digitise tax processes and support compliance operations. The company said its platform helps tax teams manage changing regulatory requirements while improving visibility over tax data and reducing operational risk.
The rebrand reflects a broader strategy to bring compliance, tax data, governance and intelligence together on a single platform. Under the Alphatax brand, the company said it is building what it describes as the world’s first tax operating system, bringing tax data, decisions, approvals, filings and supporting evidence into one environment.
According to the company, the new identity builds on the established recognition of the Alphatax product, which is already widely used by tax professionals globally. Bringing its product portfolio under a single brand is intended to create a more unified customer experience across corporation tax, Pillar Two, transfer pricing and tax reporting, while existing products and services will continue unchanged throughout the transition.
The business serves more than 42% of the FTSE 100 and 80% of the UK’s largest advisory firms. More than 30,000 tax professionals use its software, with over 200,000 submissions processed each year.
Alphatax CEO Bruce Martin said, “This is another important step in the evolution of the company. For a long time, we described ourselves as a tax compliance company. That description no longer fully reflects what we are becoming. Compliance remains core to our business, but the next chapter is about trusted intelligence: helping organisations process and understand tax faster, with more context, stronger controls and greater confidence.”
He added, “Many of our customers already know us as Alphatax. For decades, the name has been associated with trust, accuracy, rigour and helping tax professionals get the job done properly. It reflects both the foundations that built this company and the future we are creating: a more connected, intelligent and proactive way for tax teams to work.”
