Ramp enters Canada with global finance platform push

Ramp, the finance automation platform behind corporate cards, expense management and bill payments, has expanded into Canada with the launch of its local offering and a new Toronto office.

The move allows eligible Canadian businesses to manage multi-currency spending through a single platform, including CAD and USD corporate cards, CAD bill payments, employee reimbursements and automated tax coding across GST, HST, PST and QST requirements.

Ramp said the Canadian platform is now available across most provinces, with the Toronto office forming part of its longer-term investment in the market. The company has also begun building a local team to support businesses across Canada.

The expansion follows a series of product updates introduced since 2024, when Ramp first added CAD cards for Canadian companies. The company has since expanded its offering with USD cards, local bill payments, provincial tax coding and accounting integrations.

Ramp is entering the Canadian market as finance teams face increasing complexity around international spending, multiple currencies and growing adoption of artificial intelligence tools. According to the company’s Ramp AI Index, 51% of Canadian businesses were paying for AI tools as of June 2026, while adoption of multiple AI models has also increased.

The company said its platform uses automation to learn from business policies, vendor relationships, accounting history and previous decisions to help finance teams manage spending more efficiently.

Toronto-based wellness company Othership is among the early Canadian customers using Ramp to manage CAD and USD spending as it expands across Canada and the US, giving finance teams greater visibility and control over cross-border transactions.

Ramp VP of international expansion Jacob Wallenberg said, “Canadian businesses are scaling with increasingly global needs, and finance teams are at the centre of managing that. Ramp is built for the way Canadian companies actually operate, from CAD and USD cards to local payments and provincial tax coding.”

The launch highlights a wider trend across FinTech, with spend management providers expanding internationally as businesses seek more integrated tools to manage payments, compliance and financial operations.
