AccountsIQ, a cloud accounting platform built for mid-market organisations, has entered into a strategic partnership with Abacum, an AI-native financial planning and analysis provider, in a move designed to give finance teams a fully connected stack spanning accounting through to strategic planning.
Under the new arrangement, finance teams using AccountsIQ will gain direct access to Abacum’s planning, budgeting and forecasting tools, allowing them to progress from verified financial data to advanced analysis without relying on spreadsheets or manual data transfers.
AccountsIQ will continue to handle multi-entity, multi-currency accounting, while Abacum layers AI-driven planning and forecasting capability on top, joining the two into a single workflow that runs from initial recordkeeping through reporting and into forward planning.
The companies said the combined offering is intended to give finance teams more certainty in their figures while freeing up time for teams to take on a more strategic role within their organisations.
As part of the tie-up, Abacum will function as an intelligence layer sitting above AccountsIQ’s data, linking financial information across systems in real time. The two firms describe the partnership as part of a broader shift within European finance functions, away from historical reporting and towards forward-looking planning supported by AI.
Abacum brings together planning, forecasting and reporting within a single collaborative workspace, with a focus on automating reporting tasks, improving forecasting accuracy and supporting collaborative headcount planning. The company has raised more than $90m to date and counts customers in over 30 countries.
AccountsIQ, for its part, is designed specifically for multi-entity, mid-market businesses, supporting more than 35,000 users across upwards of 85 countries, alongside more than 30 technology partner integrations and native multi-entity consolidation with built-in foreign exchange conversion across currencies including GBP, USD and EUR.
Investment bank GP Bullhound is already using the combined platform, with AccountsIQ’s integrations team having built a dedicated Abacum connector to suit the bank’s multi-entity structure, replacing what had previously been a manual upload process with automated data flows.
Abacum partnerships manager TJ Dhadwar said, “At Abacum, we focus on turning financial data into real-time decision-making by replacing spreadsheets with scalable planning and empowering finance teams to lead businesses. Our new strategic partnership with AccountsIQ is the next step in creating a unified finance workflow from record to report to plan, with actuals flowing automatically from AccountsIQ into our platform, removing the manual export/import step that usually breaks FP&A workflows.”
AccountsIQ CEO Darren Cran said, “Our partnership with Abacum comes at the height of the AI-powered finance evolution in the UK and has extended AccountsIQ’s value beyond accounting to support strategic planning and better business decision-making.”
He added, “With Abacum, we have established a partner ecosystem delivering a best-in-class finance stack. Following this new partnership, we plan to continue to help international businesses such as GP Bullhound get clean, consolidated numbers out of complex, multi-entity operations and get those numbers into the hands of FP&A faster.”
