Sumsub and Orochi Networ have entered a strategic partnership aimed at helping Web3 and digital-asset businesses across Southeast Asia meet compliance requirements as Vietnam rolls out its new licensing framework for crypto assets.
The tie-up comes as Vietnam, one of the world’s most active retail crypto markets, shifts away from regulatory ambiguity towards a formal licensing regime. This transition is fuelling demand for infrastructure that can support both compliance obligations and continued innovation in the sector.
Under the partnership, Orochi Network’s ecosystem will gain access to Sumsub’s trust infrastructure, which brings together identity and business verification, fraud prevention, continuous monitoring, risk management and Travel Rule compliance within a single platform. Sumsub’s technology spans more than 220 countries and territories and is designed to adjust to shifting regulatory demands, allowing businesses to expand across borders securely.
Orochi Network acts as an official advisor to Da Nang on the city’s international financial centre initiative, positioning it between Web3 developers and regulators. The partnership pairs Sumsub’s compliance capabilities, including a Travel Rule directory covering more than 2,100 virtual asset service providers, with Orochi’s zkDatabase, a verifiable database that cryptographically confirms data accuracy while keeping the underlying information private. Together, the two firms aim to combine verification strength with privacy-preserving technology built for regulated environments.
In its initial phase, the collaboration will centre on go-to-market support for projects working towards licensing in Vietnam, alongside broader educational efforts on regulatory readiness across the region. Beyond this, the companies are also developing a technical integration linking Sumsub’s verification processes with Orochi’s privacy-preserving data layer, with the aim of making compliance processes both auditable and secure for firms entering regulated markets.
Orochi Network CEO Mary Tran said, “Compliance and privacy have too often been treated as a trade-off. They shouldn’t be. Sumsub is the global benchmark for verification, and Southeast Asia is opening up under real regulatory frameworks. Together we give builders here a credible path into licensed markets with cryptographic proof behind it.”
Sumsub Vice President, APAC, Penny Chai said, “Vietnam is entering a pivotal phase as it formalizes its approach to digital asset regulation, and businesses need a trusted compliance infrastructure that can keep pace with both local requirements and global standards. Through our partnership with Orochi Network, we are combining AI-powered verification and compliance capabilities with privacy-preserving data innovation, enabling companies to scale confidently while meeting regulatory expectations across Southeast Asia and beyond.”
