Quartr raises $18m to accelerate AI financial data growth

Quartr, an AI infrastructure provider for institutional finance and company research, has raised $18m in new funding as it looks to accelerate product development and broaden its global coverage of first-party investor relations data.

The round was led by existing investor Altos Ventures, with new investor SEB also participating. The investment makes Altos Ventures Quartr’s largest shareholder, increasing its backing of the company’s strategy as it continues to expand its products and customer base.

Quartr said it is continuing to grow at triple-digit rates, with Net Revenue Retention of around 120%. Its customers include major hedge funds, asset managers and technology companies, while more than 800 financial institutions and technology businesses use its products for research and development.

The company plans to use the new capital to increase the pace of product development and extend its coverage. The funding comes as the financial sector increasingly looks towards AI-powered research tools and structured data to support investment analysis and technology development.

Quartr provides real-time, structured investor relations data from live public company events. Its platform is designed to serve both financial professionals using AI for research and businesses building their own applications on top of financial data.

The company’s product offering is divided between Quartr Pro and Quartr API. Quartr Pro is an AI research platform used by hedge funds, asset managers, equity researchers and investor relations professionals, while Quartr API provides the underlying data infrastructure for companies and developers.

Quartr’s growth has helped it build a customer base spanning some of the world’s largest financial institutions and technology companies. The company said its combination of coverage, data and AI capabilities positions it within a financial information market that is rapidly changing as demand for machine-readable and first-party data increases.

Altos Ventures, which was established in 1996, is an investment firm focused on early-stage businesses. Its investment approach centres on long-term value creation, strong operating fundamentals and efficient use of capital.
