Natural lands $100m credit line for AI agent payments

Natural, a start-up developing the underlying payments infrastructure for AI agents, has agreed a credit facility of up to $100m with Upper90 Capital Management, LP.

The new funding is intended to boost Natural’s capacity to meet the expanding capital requirements of its payments and credit offerings, as AI agents take on a larger role as active participants in the global economy.

The facility gives the company room to support far higher payment volumes and greater amounts of deployed credit as this demand grows.

Natural’s founders argue that shifting money at scale is not simply a technology challenge but a financing one too, given that trillions of dollars change hands worldwide each day and a substantial share of that flow depends on capital being advanced ahead of final settlement. The company expects AI agents to need access to credit far more frequently than has historically been the case in payments verticals dominated by human users, and it has structured the facility to expand alongside that need.

Across its business, Natural is building out the full payments stack so that AI agents can move funds, draw on credit, take in payments, and carry out transactions autonomously throughout the global economy.

The agreement with Upper90 comes after Natural previously brought in more than $40m in equity funding from a group of backers that includes Forerunner, Human Capital, Abstract, Bridge, Brex, Mercury, Privy, Vercel, Notion, Increase, Unit and Figure, among others.

Natural CEO and Co-founder Kahlil Lalji said, “We believe agents will become the primary financial actors of the global economy, and the infrastructure supporting them will need to operate at a scale that’s difficult to comprehend today.

“For us, the question wasn’t just who could provide capital today. It was who shared our view of where this is going and could scale with us from our first million dollars of deployed credit to our first billion. Upper90 is that partner.”

Upper90 Managing Director Dallin Rosdahl said, “Agentic payments are about to reshape how commerce happens, and we believe that the Natural team is going to be the team to lead this transformation, we are thrilled to partner with Natural and support its vision.”
