AEGIS London, a top-quartile Lloyd’s syndicate, and Augentic, a tech-enabled MGA, have joined forces to launch a new cross-class digital follow consortium within the Lloyd’s market.
The arrangement gives brokers streamlined, digital access to follow capacity spanning AEGIS London’s open market book. Described as a market first, the facility allows brokers to secure a single follow line covering Property, Casualty and Specialty risks through one digital process, with the aim of simplifying placement and speeding up time to market. Capacity behind the facility is being provided by Argenta, Chaucer and Liberty Specialty Markets.
The initiative responds to mounting pressure on brokers to place increasingly complicated risks quickly, at a time when timelines are tightening and capacity across several classes remains constrained. By digitising access to follow capacity across its underwriting portfolio, AEGIS London intends the consortium to cut friction from the placement process, speed up decision-making and give brokers and their clients greater certainty of execution.
AEGIS London head of distribution Tom Squires said, “We’ve always used consortia as a way to deploy capacity intelligently, but this is the first time we’ve fully fused that approach with our digital strategy.
“As the follow market becomes more sophisticated, digital follow and smart follow structures create a real opportunity to support brokers with greater speed and certainty, while harnessing the expertise of lead underwriters and remaining anchored to underwriting discipline. This is about using digital capability to enhance underwriting excellence, not replace it.”
Augentic CEO Daniel Prince said, “It’s great to be working with AEGIS London on this initiative. They have a strong reputation in the Lloyd’s market for consistent underwriting results and a disciplined approach through the cycle, which made them a natural partner for us as we target building sustainable facilities that work for clients, brokers and carriers.”
