Binance’s TradFi push brings stocks into digital markets

Binance TradFi perps overtake digital assets in volume

Binance, a digital asset exchange and blockchain ecosystem, is seeing growing demand for perpetual futures linked to traditional assets as it expands its derivatives offering across equities, exchange-traded funds and commodities.

Ten of Binance’s top 15 perpetual futures contracts by 24-hour trading volume now track traditional assets, according to data from the exchange, while the remaining five are linked to digital assets including bitcoin, ether and solana.

The strongest performer was the SANDUSDT perpetual, which tracks semiconductor company SanDisk. The contract recorded approximately $6.87bn in 24-hour trading volume on Binance as of 9am UTC on 19 August.

Binance estimated that the figure represented around 22% of SanDisk’s total Nasdaq trading volume over the same period, based on share volume data from the exchange.

Silver has also emerged as a significant asset within Binance’s TradFi offering, with its XAGUSDT perpetual recording approximately $826m in 24-hour trading volume.

The exchange said weekly trading volume for stock-linked perpetuals across centralised exchanges has increased around 79-fold since the beginning of 2026. Binance also claimed it accounted for approximately 76% of equity perpetual trading volume across tracked platforms during July.

Binance head of exchange and trading Shunyet Jan said, “The shift validates Binance’s stated mission to make its platform a multi-asset financial super app where users can access crypto and traditional asset classes within a single account. By offering USDT-margined perpetual contracts on ETFs, commodities and more, Binance has effectively extended crypto-style round-the-clock trading to assets that were previously confined to traditional market hours.”

Binance operates a wider blockchain ecosystem spanning trading, payments, institutional services, education, research and Web3, and says it serves more than 320 million users across more than 100 countries.
