Marloo integrates Morningstar data into AI advice platform

Marloo, the AI platform built specifically for financial advisers, has struck an agreement with Morningstar, a leading provider of independent investment insights, to bring the data and research firm’s content into its adviser-facing platform.

Under the arrangement, Marloo will pull research and data from the Morningstar MCP Server directly into its client offering.

The tie-up responds to rising demand among advisers for their core functions, including proprietary investment content, to sit inside one AI-enabled system rather than being spread across multiple tools.

Through the integration, Marloo customers can tap Morningstar’s coverage of its fund universe and roughly 1,500 model portfolio solutions, pulling in performance and risk data, portfolio weightings and sector exposures tailored to an individual investor’s circumstances. This is designed to let advisers run direct fund comparisons and shape recommendations around each client’s specific needs.

The platform also allows advisers to carry out fund research and build client-ready reports without switching to a separate system, cutting down on manual admin. Marloo’s “Ask Marloo” tool adds a natural-language search function that advisers can use from any point on the platform, so they no longer need to break off into a different workflow to find what they need.

As an illustration, an adviser could ask Marloo to pull the one, three, five and ten-year annualised performance of every fund held by a given client, weigh that against the client’s risk profile and target asset allocation, and then feed the resulting analysis straight into a client report.

Marloo was founded in 2025 by Shakeel Lala, Hardy Michel and Ben Robertson and is based in London. The company describes itself as an AI partner for financial advisers, supporting more than 1,000 customers in managing their full advice workflow through its platform.

Morningstar’s offering spans individual and institutional investors in public and private markets, financial advisers and wealth managers, asset managers, retirement plan providers and sponsors, and fixed-income issuers, with data and research covering managed investment products, listed companies, private capital markets, debt securities and real-time global market data.

Marloo Co-Founder Hardy Michel said: “Since coming to market, we have had a singular focus on helping advisers strengthen their client relationships and improve the service they provide by reducing time spent on manual administrative tasks. This latest enhancement brings fund research and reporting directly into the Marloo workflow, removing the need to move between separate systems. The addition of Morningstar’s research and data marks a significant development in the investment research capabilities we can offer our adviser customers.”

Morningstar Director of Product Management Steven Berger said: “As firms build the next generation of AI-driven products and services, powering those experiences with trusted investment content is non-negotiable. Our agreement with Marloo demonstrates how Morningstar’s AI-ready data and research can be seamlessly woven into existing adviser workflows, helping advisers get the information they need faster to better serve their clients.”
