For RegTech, the first six months of 2026 have brought no shortage of either. New products have arrived, investment has continued to flow, regulatory demands have evolved and firms have continued to rethink how technology fits into their compliance operations. Some ideas have gathered real momentum, whilst others remain works in progress.

What matters, then, is not simply what has been new, but what has begun to stick. Across regulatory change, financial crime, identity, data, automation, governance and the wider compliance technology stack, the first half of the year has offered some revealing clues about where the market is heading, and where the industry still has work to do.
