GenWay taps Tavant's AI to cut mortgage cycle times

GenWay Home Mortgage, a US wholesale and correspondent lender specialising in non-Qualified Mortgage and government-backed lending, has gone live with Tavant‘s AI-powered agentic automation platform, TOUCHLESS®, in a move aimed at streamlining loan origination across its non-QM and Ginnie Mae divisions.

The deployment brings AI-powered automation into some of the most labour-intensive parts of GenWay’s lending operations, with the platform being used to automate underwriting workflows, reduce manual processing and accelerate loan manufacturing across both segments.

The implementation includes six underwriting automation products that GenWay has taken into live production within three months, covering intelligent data and document processing, workflow automation and guided task execution.

The tools have been configured around the compliance and documentation requirements of non-QM and government lending, with GenWay aiming to build an operation that can scale as its business grows without adding proportional headcount.

Tavant said lenders using TOUCHLESS across agency and non-agency products have reduced operational costs by as much as 60%, increased underwriting throughput by four to 12 times and shortened loan cycle times from typically 30 to 45 days to between seven and 15 days.

The company said the improvements can support borrower and employee experiences while maintaining compliance and operational controls.

GenWay operates nationwide across wholesale and correspondent channels, with its product range spanning down payment assistance, non-QM loans and government-backed lending. Its focus on non-QM products allows its partner lenders to serve borrowers who may not fit conventional qualified mortgage requirements.

The deployment extends TOUCHLESS into both non-agency and government lending, giving GenWay a common automation infrastructure across different parts of its mortgage origination operation.

For Tavant, the implementation demonstrates the flexibility of its AI-powered platform across different mortgage workflows, while GenWay gains automation capabilities designed around the specific requirements of its lending business.

GenWay chief executive and president Greg Reed said, “GenWay is committed to building a lending operation that is both efficient and adaptable as our business continues to grow. Tavant’s AI-powered platform gives us the automation infrastructure we need to scale our business with confidence. Their deep understanding of the mortgage industry, combined with AI and Automation depth and a delivery model built around our specific needs, made Tavant the clear partner of choice. TOUCHLESS provides the automation infrastructure needed to accelerate our transformation, while also providing meaningful support to our team and creating a strong foundation for our non-QM and Ginnie Mae businesses.”

Tavant president of FinTech Hassan Rashid added, “We are proud to partner with such a forward-looking lender and welcome GenWay to the growing TOUCHLESS community. This engagement reflects the strength of our AI-powered platform across both non-agency and government lending. By leveraging TOUCHLESS, GenWay will be able to automate key processes, improve operational performance and create a foundation for future innovation and growth.”
