Topps Tiles, the UK’s leading tile specialist, has formed a strategic partnership with GoCardless, a prominent bank payments company, to enhance its Trade Pay service.
The partnership involves GoCardless powering the payments for Trade Pay, Topps Tiles’ trade credit scheme. This initiative allows traders to conveniently manage their credit payments through automated Direct Debits, ensuring timely repayment and financial fluidity for both the traders and the company.
Topps Tiles has historically offered credit schemes to trade customers, facilitating purchases on credit at its stores. Prior to this new arrangement, the company outsourced its trade credit services, which, while convenient, incurred significant transaction fees. The shift to in-house management with GoCardless’s technology aims to reduce these costs and streamline operations.
The implementation of GoCardless’s services is expected to accelerate payment processes, reduce manual administrative work, and improve overall efficiency at Topps Tiles. Traders will benefit from a more streamlined credit management system, enabling easier and quicker setup of Direct Debits, which enhances their purchasing experience.
Neil Williams, Head of PMO and Development at Topps Group, emphasized the benefits of this partnership, stating: “After successfully moving our Trade credit service to an internal scheme we wanted to make it as easy as possible for our customers to manage and pay for their account, and GoCardless seemed the perfect partner to add a direct debit facility to our TradePay credit scheme.”
