Worldpay, a leading global payments provider, has partnered with Visa, a world leader in digital payments, to offer the Click to Pay payment option to merchants in the UK.
Customers using the Wordlpay’s hosted payments pages can now enable Click to Pay with Visa effortlessly, without requiring merchant integration or development work.
The partnership aims to address the widespread issue of cart abandonment in online retail. Research by Worldpay highlights that nearly half of consumers abandon their carts due to a lengthy checkout process. By integrating Visa’s Click to Pay, merchants can streamline transactions and improve conversion rates.
Worldpay, a major player in global payment processing, provides solutions that cater to businesses of all sizes. It enables secure and efficient payments across various channels, including e-commerce, in-store, and mobile transactions. Visa, a globally recognised leader in digital payments, facilitates seamless and secure transactions worldwide, offering innovative solutions to enhance the consumer payment experience.
Visa Click to Pay is a cutting-edge card standard designed to simplify and secure online payments. The technology eliminates the need for manual card entry, enhancing both security and user experience. Features such as tokenization encrypt card details, reducing fraud risks and increasing transaction authorisation rates. Studies show Click to Pay improves authorisation rates by over 10% and reduces fraud by 80% compared to manual PAN entry.
Worldpay’s research found that 83% of online shoppers expect a one-click checkout experience. By implementing Click to Pay, merchants can meet this demand, driving customer loyalty and reducing abandoned carts.
“Online retailers know the problems of the abandoned cart conundrum. In our research, we’ve found that nearly half of consumers who have abandoned their cart say there were too many steps in the checkout process,” said Pete Wickes, general manager of EMEA at Worldpay. “We add value for our clients providing them access to payments innovations like Click to Pay with Visa, and we go a step further by making it as easy as a switch of a button to turn it on without further integration work.”
“Visa cardholders globally can now experience the convenience of our Click to Pay solution, and we’re delighted to be able to bring it to more merchants and consumers by partnering with a leader like Worldpay,” commented Mandy Lamb, managing director, UK and Ireland, at Visa. “One-click shopping online is now the expectation for many consumers and this partnership will help even more businesses in the UK to deliver on this.”
