Hawk appoints Talwar to lead AI fraud defence strategy

Hawk, a leader in AI-powered fraud prevention and anti-money laundering (AML) solutions, has appointed Hrishi Talwar as vice president of product, fraud.

In his new role, Talwar will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of Hawk’s fraud prevention offerings as the company expands its AI-led mission to combat financial crime more effectively.

With nearly three decades of experience in financial services and risk management, Talwar brings deep product expertise from both in-house teams and client-facing roles. His previous leadership positions at Equifax, Fiserv, and Vesta saw him guide the development of solutions across fraud, compliance, payments, and data analytics.

Hawk vice president of product, fraud Hrishi Talwar said, “Fraud prevention is at a major inflection point. Financial institutions are under increasing pressure to respond to threats in real time, but many are constrained by outdated systems and fragmented tools. I’ve been really impressed by how Hawk is deploying AI to fundamentally redefine how we tackle financial crime with solutions that meet the needs of institutions of all sizes. I’m excited to be joining the team and driving the next phase of innovation in fraud prevention.”

Talwar will oversee the evolution of Hawk’s fraud prevention product suite, including the deployment of large transaction models (LTMs) and agentic AI capabilities. His remit also includes the continued development of FRAML solutions—bringing together fraud and AML detection—designed to provide faster, more precise responses to financial crime while improving operational efficiency.

His appointment comes during a period of strong growth and recognition for Hawk. The company was recently named a Category Leader in the 2025 Enterprise and Payment Fraud Report by Chartis Research. In June, Hawk introduced its Fraud Day One Defense Models, a suite of tools designed to help banks implement tailored fraud detection models quickly to maximise early impact.

Hawk chief product officer and co-founder Wolfgang Berner said, “Hrishi’s arrival marks the next leap forward in our mission to change how financial institutions can tackle the enormous problem of fraud. His deep product expertise and success at scale will sharpen our platform’s intelligence and speed, enable our customers to stay ahead of ever-evolving threats with maximum efficiency.”
