SS&C Blue Prism has unveiled its AI Gateway, a governance-first platform designed to help enterprises scale generative AI securely, ensuring control, visibility and auditability at every stage.
With many organisations rushing to adopt AI — often without central oversight — the company is positioning AI Gateway as the secure entry point for AI across the enterprise.
The urgency for such a platform is clear. Research from Gartner indicates that 93% of enterprises see competitive benefits from generative AI, while Blue Prism found that 92% consider AI core to their operations.
Yet 37% still cite security concerns as their biggest barrier to adoption, while 56% of deployments generate limited value without proper governance, the reports claim. Unapproved tool usage, fragmented deployment and a lack of audit trails are emerging as major risks.
SS&C AI Gateway addresses these challenges by integrating governance and security into a single platform that works across departments and existing systems. Whether organisations are just beginning to experiment or already managing widespread AI use, the tool aims to deliver a safe, scalable and compliant framework for innovation, Blue Prism said.
The risks of ungoverned AI adoption — sometimes referred to as “shadow AI” — include employees using tools like ChatGPT or Claude without oversight, the flow of sensitive data into public systems, and a lack of records for regulatory reviews. These gaps can expose businesses to operational, legal and reputational damage, especially when scaling AI initiatives across multiple teams.
AI Gateway’s design focuses on enterprise-scale governance. It offers secure, standardised API access to approved large language models, full metadata for every AI interaction to aid auditing, and the ability to integrate directly into existing workflows. Deployment is simplified via the SS&C | Blue Prism® Digital Exchange or OpenAPI standard public APIs.
Unlike tools built for isolated use cases, AI Gateway is aimed at enterprise-wide adoption. SS&C has embedded the same regulatory rigour it applies to its other financial solutions, ensuring organisations are audit-ready from day one. The platform is already in active use at SS&C, where it has delivered measurable results.
In one example, SS&C Global Investor Distribution Solutions used AI Gateway to accelerate the review of complex credit agreements of over 500 pages. By combining the platform with SS&C Blue Prism digital workers and a secure proprietary large language model, processing time dropped from two hours to just six minutes — a 95% reduction — without compromising accuracy or security.
