Routefusion raises $26.5m to expand global payments

Routefusion, a FinTech company building modern financial infrastructure for cross-border payments, has raised $26.5m in a Series A funding round.

The round was led by PeakSpan Capital, with participation from Silverton Partners, bringing Routefusion’s total funding to $40.7m.

Founded in 2018, Routefusion provides a unified API that enables platforms and financial institutions to embed seamless cross-border payments and multi-currency account capabilities. The company consolidates fragmented payment rails, currency conversion tools, and compliance processes into one system, allowing clients to integrate a complex financial stack directly into their offerings.

The funding will be used to accelerate Routefusion’s expansion of its partner network, enhance liquidity and compliance capabilities, and scale its product, engineering, and go-to-market teams. The company also plans to deepen its platform coverage across accounts, FX, and payments, while strengthening onboarding and launch operations for its customers—mainly platforms and financial institutions with large cross-border payment volumes.

Routefusion operates its infrastructure end to end, covering onboarding, compliance, and launch support to help businesses scale quickly and confidently. Its network includes redundancy across multiple banks, non-bank providers, and payment rails such as SWIFT, RTP, and stablecoin networks, ensuring operational continuity even amid regulatory or political disruptions.

Routefusion CEO and co-founder Colton Seal said, “Cross-border commerce depends on networks that are secure, resilient, and universally accessible. Much like Visa transformed domestic commerce, Routefusion is unifying access to the global payments ecosystem. Our mission is to ensure that businesses, regardless of size or geography, can move money with the same speed, trust, and transparency as they operate locally.”

PeakSpan Capital vice president Justin Kelly, who will join Routefusion’s board following the investment, said, “Routefusion’s network represents the kind of infrastructure that underpins the future of global payments. The costs of building and maintaining these capabilities internally are prohibitive for most businesses. Routefusion delivers an enterprise-grade, turnkey solution that is deeply integrated, transparent, and compliant. We believe this is the type of infrastructure that will power the next generation of global platforms.”
