Comera Financial Holdings and SC Ventures partner on SME finance

Comera Financial Holdings and SC Ventures have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the SME financing ecosystem and accelerating innovation across the UAE and beyond.

The collaboration has been formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, reflecting a shared ambition to advance technology-driven financial solutions that support SMEs while aligning with the UAE’s broader economic priorities. The partnership is positioned as a step towards building more resilient, sustainable financing frameworks for businesses operating in key sectors of the economy.

A central objective of the partnership is to design and explore financial solutions tailored to companies with extensive SME networks. These may include innovations across supply chain finance, working capital optimisation, and sector-specific financing structures. By addressing long-standing funding and liquidity challenges faced by SMEs, the two organisations aim to improve business resilience and enhance long-term competitiveness.

Comera Financial Holdings brings to the collaboration its rapidly growing FinTech platforms and experience in building scalable financial infrastructure designed to meet the evolving needs of businesses. The group focuses on deploying modern, digitally enabled financial services that can adapt to changing market conditions and support economic development across multiple sectors.

SC Ventures contributes deep expertise in venture building, credit intelligence and the development of new digital business models. As Standard Chartered’s innovation arm, SC Ventures specialises in creating and scaling technology-led financial solutions that address structural gaps within financial services, with a strong emphasis on practical deployment and commercial impact.

Beyond product development, the partnership will also explore broader strategic opportunities, including potential investments, the co-creation of new financial models and closer coordination on targeted business initiatives. This wider scope is intended to stimulate innovation, enable aligned growth strategies and support the large-scale rollout of comprehensive financial solutions.

Akhtar Saeed Hashmi, managing director and CEO of Comera Financial Holdings, said, “This collaboration represents a major step forward in our ambition to develop a modern, resilient, and future-oriented financial infrastructure for the UAE. By partnering with SC Ventures, we intend to deploy innovative financing models, driven by digital technologies, capable of meeting the evolving needs of both SMEs and large corporations, and sustainably supporting their growth strategies in a constantly changing economic environment.”

Alex Manson, CEO of Standard Chartered Ventures, said, “At SC Ventures, our mission is to create and develop companies that provide concrete solutions to real challenges. The partnership with Comera offers us the opportunity to co-design a robust and scalable digital infrastructure, capable of equipping SMEs with the tools, analytics, and access necessary to grow sustainably and thrive in an innovation-driven economy.”

Comera Financial Holdings and SC Ventures will continue to assess the identified opportunities with the intention of establishing a long-term collaboration, with further updates expected as the partnership progresses.
