Lemonade, a tech-first insurance provider serving more than three million active customers, has launched its renters insurance product in North Dakota, extending its footprint across the United States.
The product is available through Lemonade’s app, which allows renters to obtain quotes, purchase and update policies, and submit claims from a single platform. The company says approximately 40% of claims are resolved instantly, enabling faster payouts following a covered loss.
Pricing begins at $5 per month, with Lemonade citing internal and industry data suggesting its rates sit around 30% below the national average for renters insurance. Customers may qualify for further reductions by bundling policies, installing eligible home safety devices, or opting for annual rather than monthly billing.
Lemonade has previously received recognition from Forbes, CNBC, and U.S. News & World Report for both its products and customer experience.
Lemonade head of renters insurance Dan Timsit said, “North Dakota represents another important step in Lemonade’s continued expansion across the United States. Our goal is to make insurance easier to understand, easier to access, and easier to manage. We’re excited to offer North Dakota renters a modern alternative to traditional insurance.”
