FlexTrade integrates Portx risk analytics into buy-side platform

FlexTrade Systems, a provider of multi-asset execution and order management technology, has partnered with portfolio construction and analytics firm Portx to integrate real-time optimisation and risk analytics capabilities into its buy-side platform FlexONE.

The partnership embeds Portx’s portfolio construction, optimisation and risk analytics tools into FlexTrade’s order and execution management system (OEMS), allowing portfolio managers and traders to assess risk, review pro forma exposures and make decisions within the trading workflow.

The collaboration comes as institutional investors face increasing demand for real-time risk management across complex portfolios, including multi-strategy and multi-asset investment approaches. Firms are increasingly looking to bring risk analysis closer to the point of execution rather than relying on separate downstream processes.

FlexONE already provides front-office analytics including real-time risk recalculation, intraday factor exposure monitoring and factor P&L decomposition. The integration adds Portx’s portfolio construction and optimisation capabilities, using live positions, orders, executions and order-lifecycle data to provide portfolio risk insights before and during execution.

FlexTrade provides multi-asset execution and order management systems for buy-side and sell-side financial institutions. Portx provides portfolio construction and risk analytics technology for discretionary investment teams through user interfaces and API-driven workflows.

Portx CEO and founder Enrico Grande said, “Discretionary portfolio managers need to turn increasingly complex quantitative data into clear, actionable investment decisions. Portx enables that process by delivering sophisticated analytics and purpose-built portfolio construction technology for fundamental investors.

“By integrating with FlexONE, we can bring the power of Portx directly into the FlexONE user interface and API suite. The outcome is an enhanced trading workflow that can help portfolio managers assess and control risk and exposures and make more informed decisions,” he said.

FlexTrade head of OEMS product Aaron Levine said, “Our partnership with Portx expands and enhances the portfolio intelligence available within FlexONE, giving clients access to sophisticated portfolio construction tools and real-time risk insights directly within their OEMS.

“With FlexONE at the center of the full trading workflow, combined with Portx’s capabilities, we are delivering the mission-critical data and analytics that portfolio managers and traders need – at the exact point they need it – to better understand exposures, assess pro forma impact, and make more informed decisions” he said.
